Well now we know that Halle Berry was pregnant. It only took two kids shooting out of her before we were certain.

Her timing was impeccable too. Friday June 12 the boys and I were at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum along with 30 other people in a group I put together attending one of their homeschool classes,  Submersibles. It was in their huge water park. We knew that morning that Halles tail ligaments had gone completely soft. When that happens they are within twelve hours of kidding. That was at 6:45 a.m. Who know when in the night they went soft.

Michael called me about 11:30 a.m. to let me know she seemed like she was getting close. Thankfully a lot of the moms and kids that were part of the group were friends from Portland. My dear friend Teddy said she would watch the boys while I was gone. I didn’t get a chance to locate the boys and tell them, which they were not too happy about, but they survived.

Halle actually didn’t start showing signs of labor until about 2:30. As usual, the first baby takes longer to come out. Here is her buckling entering the world.

It took a number of minutes for him to be born. Once out Halle went to work eating cleaning off all the slimy stuff.

About five minutes passed when she lays down and it was immediately clear that she had another kid in there. This is the little doeling making her entrance.

She had a cute little face plant in her efforts to get to the milk.

The kids are pretty wobbly at first, but like animals do, they began trying to walk pretty quickly. A need to nurse motivates them.

Finding the milk dispenser is hard enough but then they have to get their little mouths open wide enough to fit the teet.

See how in the first picture they are at the wrong end? That happens often the first day.

Halle Berry is such a good momma. Making sure they get cleaned.

But of course she has to eat too.

Halle is five years old and has had kids before so there wasn’t anything we had to do. She is a good momma.

It was so nice to have her kidding take place in the middle of the afternoon, on a warm day and without incident.

We videotaped the whole thing. It was almost an hour long since we just put the camera on a tripod and let it film while we went about our business. Michael is going to shorten and edit it and we will put it up as a new post.

Enjoy your day,
Karen
