When I last left you, we were on Thursday and a play date was scheduled. Michael would also be getting home that night.

Joshua and Nicholas were a great help to me all week. As a matter of fact, the only reason the house was clean is because they cleaned it for me.

A carpool was set up to get the kids to our house and Tessa arrived around 10:00 a.m. Let the chaos begin.

Everyone wanted to see the babies first so we headed out to the barn. It was love at first sight.

The boys shifted between playing video games downstairs, and air-soft wars outside. Rain, was the determiner. Here they are all suited up,

Spring Break Play Date

Someone needs to change the name from “airsoft” to “air-not-so-soft.” Or, even more appropriate “Dang! That hurts!”

They played and had tons of fun. All of these boys are really great guys.

Here are some more shots of part of the war,

While they were amusing themselves in warfare, I was checking on Oreo every hour. That morning I had noticed her tail ligaments were gone. Any time now.

Of course, what time does she choose to kid? When I’m making dinner of course. It was a mad dash, but I managed to get their dinner in the oven and get back out to the barn to be there when Oreo kidded. The funny thing is, Oreo is our only goat that kidded on her due date.

All the boys came out too. Nate helped me take pictures. She wasn’t making much noise but she was pushing hard. Eventually, I was able to see two feet and a nose. However, it didn’t progress from there. I made the choice to pull the baby out. One baby boy. She really didn’t get large at all during her pregnancy so we were not surprised by only one.

Here’s momma and baby,

Michael got home about 2:30 a.m. One of his flights had some mechanical problems and that delayed him.

Two more goats to go. Mouse and Jessie. Mouse was due on 3/22, but she is late. We have no idea when Jessie will be due.

Enjoy the day,
Karen
